I am having a similar problem with the acception of being able to access anything.
I have followed the things about changing the config-sample to congif.php uploaded it all, tried the http://blahblah/wp-admin/install.php and I get an error page.
I have contacted 1&1 but have as yet had no reply (3 days now) but I think they don’t like outside software being preferenced over their own really tacky and nasty stuff.
Any help greatly appreciated
