Ok changing thumbnail size in wordpress settings and rescanning gallery folder worked for gallery photos! But not for slideshow thumbnails. I’m guessing it might be tricky because its using the backend thumbnail preview size. Any suggestions?
Also figured out how to crop images at top by default through this tutorial. worked like a charm:
