It looks like WP is already getting all of your testimonial slides, so really it’s more of a question on how to add next/previous buttons within your javascript slider?
You could use a pre-built slider such as cycle2 that has all of that built in.

I don’t actually want to use any prebuilt sliders or plugins for this as i want to learn how to make my own.
