Once I changed the feed to be number of “years” back (1) and forward (2) the calendar started working for me. Also using the new shortcode like [gcal id=”213″].
My advice is to create a new test feed and confirm it works. Then modify your existing feed to match it.

Resolved by removing the below lines from style.css.
background: #fff;
border: 1px solid #fff;
