In reply to: [bbPress] Lack of flexibilities and not 100% cleaned after uninstallationNot the bbPress plugin but all the other plugins combined that added features to your plugin…
Yeah I still do not get where you are getting these plugins that cost a total of 250 dollars a month, can you lead me to some of what you are talking about?? I just want to check on them, there is likely a free alternative to the plugins you paid for.
There are just so many issues and you can’t customize the forum as much as needed
What are the issues that you are experiencing customizing your forums?? I am pretty sure I can help you on this.
Don’t mean to be harsh but I can’t even post all my problems without getting an error and then it doesn’t even tell you why.
It is being looked over why you cannot post on bbpress.org, but you can post your issues here or on your own review.

In reply to: [bbPress] Lack of flexibilities and not 100% cleaned after uninstallationI couldn’t even post a topic in their forum every time I had a question… 80% of the time this is what I got
This probably needs to be looked on why you have this issue, can you post replies. I did post a reply to one of your topics here, so see if you can reply. Make sure to keep your reply in one peice and not write message after message so quick or the forum flood control will get you.
I had to install 26 other plugins and pay a total of $250 a month for the plugins I would have needed
What bbPress plugins cost 250 dollars a month??
The hierarchy layout has always been in some developers minds, also I think someone is actually trying to implement this into core.

In reply to: [bbPress] Awful…too many plugins needed to make bbPress worktoo many plugins needed to make bbPress work
bbPress should work without needing plugins, you mean to achieve certain functionality like other forum solutions I bet. Some people hate this but this gives the user the option to only have what they need. It is kind of modular in a sense. Users may want simple forums and that is what bbPress is, but you can extend it using the plugins that you need.
There are just way too many things that can’t be done without purchasing 10 different plugins to make bbPress work.
What plugins did you need to buy??
It has no private inbox option, you can’t show forums to non logged in users is you want them to be private.
There are a ton of Private Messaging plugins to choose from and plugins like BuddyPress that have the feature, and there are plugins for private groups and to show the forums to members only. You can also make your forums private in the individual forum settings.
I can’t even post my problems and ask for answers on there Support Forum … I get “ERROR: Your topic cannot be created at this time.” or no one answers me.
This is being looked over, if you can test to see if you can reply to one your topics here.

In reply to: [bbPress] awfulI replied to the topic you created.
It seems that you have gotten most of the styles fixed from what you originally posted.
As for your topic disappearing from your profile, maybe a moderator accidentally marked you as a spam user, but I am just making assumptions and will talk to the developers about it later.

You had some replies , but I can’t go to the topic you replied to for some reason.

In reply to: [bbPress] Lack of flexibilities and not 100% cleaned after uninstallationWell there have been more important tickets for them to focus on , that is why you see it has been bumped a few times.
And also that this is really just how the category and forums looks in a layout, not really a feature , but just how it looks. Unless it really does require specific arguments for the query.
I could ask them later if any code in the ticket is what they are looking for to possibly add something like it to the core sooner.

In reply to: [bbPress] Lack of flexibilities and not 100% cleaned after uninstallationIt is planned for core
They will most likely combine Lynq’s solution with Tharsheblows’ solution, or just use lynq’s code.

In reply to: [bbPress] Lack of flexibilities and not 100% cleaned after uninstallationyeah there are a few ways to do this.
Some better than others.
The easiest way is for users to create forums,
and categories for those forums,
then to put this loop-forums.php file into your child into a folder called bbpress.
https://github.com/robkk/bbPress-Hierarchical-Forum-and-Category-Layout
Then you should have the same layout in the end.
If you need more help please reply back here.

In reply to: [bbPress] Lack of flexibilities and not 100% cleaned after uninstallationFor people searching for themes that just work out of the box you look for WordPress themes with support of bbPress.
bbPress also could work with any theme , but it might require a little work to help with making it work nicely , but it wouldn’t be too difficult to do. Some themes may not need any additional work and just work right out of the box also.
In the end it depends on your theme and how bbPress would handle it.
These links would hopefully be helpful for trying to make your current WordPress theme support bbPress better.

If you need any help with making your current theme support bbPress make a topic on bbpress.org

In reply to: [bbPress] Lack of flexibilities and not 100% cleaned after uninstallationRead this, its the same situation for both BuddyPress and bbPress. Basically you do not look for just bbPress themes , you look for WordPress themes with support for bbPress.
http://wptavern.com/why-buddypress-and-bbpress-themes-dont-exist
You are suppose to find themes in the WordPress theme repository.
Here are some great free bbPress compatible themes You can find more themes just searching bbpress in the themes search.
https://wordpress.org/themes/search/bbpress/
https://wordpress.org/themes/stargazer-colloquium/
https://wordpress.org/themes/wp-knowledge-base/
https://wordpress.org/themes/eighties/As for premium designs there are a couple of good ones on themeforest.
Creating Designs just for the forum section would be quite difficult because of how WordPress themes would lay it out.

In reply to: [bbPress] Would not use BBPress unless I was a developerwould have preferred something that worked out of the box.
Well the code i mentioned is uaually the most common CSS issues.
The
.replyclass comes from themes styling the reply button in comments ,.replyis also the class for bbPress replies,
and.hentryfrom content in themes and bbPress.I might suggest telling the Devs to add
!importantto some of their CSS code to better help with a smoother integration process. Also if you do not mind share the CSS you used to fix the replies running outside of the provided frame. Like I said i did not experience this and would like to know to maybe help others that might experience the same issue in the future.

In reply to: [bbPress] Would not use BBPress unless I was a developerI have no intention of paying to be choked by someone else’s ideas, or their personal or professional limitations. I also would not trust a total stranger to create something important for me. Maybe if I didn’t care about limitations and was too lazy to learn to code. Now I feel the purpose of this entire discussion was simply to get me to pay a WordPress coder. No thank you…..I am grateful to have moved to a real hosting service with excellent tech support. I’ve moved on.
It just seemed natural to recommend hiring a developer to do these simple but custom tasks from your ideas for you since you do not have time to learn code again and so you can just focus on your business.
It is great that you are sorted out and are happy where you are at now. And hopefully you won’t go into any stressful situations like you have had before.
I can’t remember all the issues I faced in getting bbPress to work with twentyfifteen, but it certainly did not look any good
This is all the CSS code i needed to fix any small design issues that bbPress was inheriting from twenty-fifteen.
If you needed any help or need any help with bbPress then just post a topic on https://bbpress.org/forums/ . This took me about 5 minutes to come up with.
#bbpress-forums .entry-content a img { display: inline; vertical-align: baseline; } #bbpress-forums .hentry { margin: 0; } @media only screen and (max-width: 480px) { #bbpress-forums div.bbp-forum-author, #bbpress-forums div.bbp-topic-author, #bbpress-forums div.bbp-reply-author { float: left; text-align: center; width: 100%; } #bbpress-forums div.bbp-forum-content, #bbpress-forums div.bbp-topic-content, #bbpress-forums div.bbp-reply-content { margin-left: 0; padding: 12px 12px 12px 0; text-align: left; display: block; } }and like i said earlier the only weird issue is the search functionality, the last time i remember someone in the bbPress forums pointed out this issue and all you had to do was copy the templates to your child theme in a folder called bbpress.
Replies ran outside of the provided frame, for instance, cutting off the right-hand end of most lines. Many other things like headings had awkward spacing so that words ran into each other.
i did not encounter these issues but just so you know if you had BuddyPress installed too that they are having a some issues with theme compatibility with twenty-fifteen and don’t confuse them both.

If i am wrong and if you think it is bbPress and probably not some other plugin causing issues then point me out on it, and i can probably fix the style issues.

In reply to: [bbPress Advanced Statistics] In forum displaythis should do it.
function rk_show_advstats() { echo do_shortcode( '[bbpas-activity]' ); } add_action( 'bbp_template_after_forums_index', 'rk_show_advstats' ); add_action( 'bbp_template_after_topics_index', 'rk_show_advstats' ); add_action( 'bbp_template_after_single_topic', 'rk_show_advstats' ); add_action( 'bbp_template_after_single_forum', 'rk_show_advstats' );add this to your plugin description or installation.section on your plugins page.
it seems it would be the most useful function for your plugin.
