Hi – Any chance of some clarity on:
a – where menu image is uploaded – pls specify path and image dimensions?
b – Does navigation image = menu image? Are these the same thing?
c – can 3 bar responsive menu you have set up as default for tablet and phone be altered in dimension or used for desktop icon also?
tks
I had a read of this which is helpful – https://docs.generatepress.com/article/mobile-navigation/
Thanks Tom.
I can’t post there as I need to renew premium as advised earlier… which I will do but can’t this month.
There are 3 White Bars for tablet and phone – nothing for site as started clean but 3 white bar menu is there without setting up/or by default. It appears top right in these modes. Do you know how I change size and color if this is possible?
Under Customizing ▸ Layout Primary Navigation I see Navigation Logo. Is this where the menu logo should be upload and pls advise what size, I am using 500 x 500 but selected to auto size when uploaded – can’t be seen.
Under Customizing ▸ Background Images Primary Navigation I see – Navigation – Navigation item – Navigation item hover and Navigation item current. 4 places to upload an image – do these refer to Menu images or are Navigation and Menu images separate?
My site logo is uploaded here – Customizing Site Identity
I just need to know “where” I should upload an image to appear top right in header. I can’t see any “menu logo” place so I am presuming navigation is the same as menu?
I’m guessing it should be here – Customizing ▸ Background Images Primary Navigation – is this right?
Thanks.
I have an example in my head which I’ve relayed to you above. Just imagine top right, 3 horizontal bars, say 200cm sq which links to a menu.
We can definitely size our default 3 bars to whatever size you want and should be able to position them anywhere as well. Can you link me to your site?
This is the part I specifically would like to find out.
I can link you to my site which you have the domain for already but under construction so don’t know what you recommend.
Thanks.
Hi Tom, I’m not sure where the current menu icon’s located or if there is one?
On desktop I removed any menu in the header as starting fresh but now when it comes to adding it I see 3 white bars in tablet and mobile responsive but I don’t see where that is located in desktop. I can delete the word Menu in responsive but the 3 bars (from your theme?) would work for me if I could stretch out larger, somehow position it top right and color it – can this be done?
In Customizing ▸ Background Images Primary Navigation there are image upload options, cant see any dimension advice and each time I try uploading it there as a sq image size, nothing.
In Menu’s I just see Menu or Menu Location and in Layout – Customizing ▸ Layout Primary Navigation there is an option to upload a Navigation Logo Placement which is empty but my site logo is present but uploaded it under Site Identity and put my Logo there.
I’m pretty confused tbh, I would like to upload or design a simple 3 horizontal bar button/icon/navigation image/menu image – whatever its called and link a menu to it through Appearance- Menu or 3rd party logon if need.
If it’s possible through GP please kindly advise.
Thanks.
Restored site thru host restore date, lost a bit but not much. Wasn’t aware of child theme set up. From plgin developer end: “Whenever you updating your theme they are removing all files from them directory which is not correct, for example if you customize your WooCommerce views in your theme they are removing that!. So it is wrong way which they are doing.”
For now I just need to back up daily and avoid updating GP which reminds me on each new dashboard screen – anyway to remove this? Thanks.

In reply to: [GeneratePress] Possible to make content background transparent? Thanks but resolved for now
Thanks Leo. I’ve advised developer of this thread so hoping he can advise. I’ve instructed Namecheap back up to date of working customizations for now.
I disabled “Global” in elements and it obliges. I didn’t create the global element. Was it set up to interpret people using a plugin that had its own post section in this case?
Otherwise resolved.I have a quickie though if poss: I submit posts thru listdom post section, “not” wp post section. Wouldn’t header height fall under their layout although I can customize their post section with gp so that probably makes no sense. Strange homepage doesn’t react the same. Essentially, HP reacts to me affecting padding thru customizing thru wp : layout -> header -> header padding, post does a fraction, it shifts up but not as it should.
Thanks Tom. Yes, I will renew shortly but can’t this month. I had tried padding but height only set at 100. In the ss it’s somewhat taller than that. I’ll persevere. Cheers.
Thanks. I posted here as you advised as I need to renew premium before I can post there. I’ve been into elements and i’m seeing -> (no title) , Home , Posts , Global .
I presume it’s “Posts”. But from there I can’t see an option to reduce header height. Any idea if possible? Thanks
Apologies for late reply, didn’t receive an update thru email I don’t think, box was ticked.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [WooCommerce] 301 redirect not firing in WC Product URL box?Sorry -let me correct that, with the 301 redirect plugin deactivated and with http://cnn.com in the url box it does in fact go to the cnn website. I’ve tried 2 other different redirect plugins. It says to the side of the box that the link must be “external” so I cannot include an internal redirect url to an external url?
So I would need an external redirect tool – this would be the only way is that correct?
Thanks

In reply to: [WooCommerce] 301 redirect not firing in WC Product URL box?Hi, with https://wordpress.org or https://edition.cnn.com/ in the WC product url box the same thing happens – the page just refreshes.
You can also check your .htaccess file to make sure there are no issues there
I really don’t know what I’m looking at there – would you mind being a little more specific please?
Thanks a lot.
