Hi, so I though I would post a response to say the majority of this issue has been resolved with the thanks of t31os_.

The code posted successfully altered the span to outside the a href element, therefore relieving the bug in IE6 hover. Not figured out the issue with the specific class link on the footer of the sub nav…but guess thats for another day 🙂 another happy customer.

Haha, you know what after I spent about 3 hours on this last night, I went to bed, got up this morning and thought…what if I move the span outside the href! That’s freaky!

As far as I am aware as I have used it before having a span inside an a href is perfectly valid, but your right it what you suggested could certainly fix my problem, even if it does not remove the span from the child element, it will def solve the hover pseudo issue in IE6. Will give it a whirl tonight and post up if it has worked! Thanks for your response t31os_!

I am having this same problem and cannot set a bespoke page title for the homepage as the plugin over writes it. I have a specific page template set for the homepage and a different one for the blog, any ideas on a fix to this?

No I just wondered how they managed to rip off the whole site so quickly!! Mad!

I could try their hosts I suppose, thanks for the advice anyways.

To be honest I scratched the idea and made seperate images on each template page 🙁 My reasons are as follows:

    1) The website I need it for is currently on 2.3.3 and I am not really prepared to upgrade yet until 2.5 has more of its bugs ironed out.

    2) I have never really experimented with is_page_template and I dont want to upgrade to 2.5 just to test to see it works.

    3) I have a deadline of Thursday for this project so experimental time is nill!

I will keep this thread open and If I figure anything out I will post it up.

Meanwhile, anyone who knows what is_page_template is capable of and if it can be used in wp header or not, would be much appreciated if some light could be shed! Thanks

    Hi nathan,

i found this on this page

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags

It uses the is_page_template…Im not sure if this only works in the loop though or whether it works in the header? And as far as I can see its new to 2.5.

Thanks clicknathan, it did occur to me that it must be WP doing something as my code all seems fine!

The only thing I can think to do now is use the is_template tag and call the style and images that way, still don’t know whether it will work though and think this conditional tag is only available in 2.5? May be wrong

It may be easier if you swap the process around. Copy all the info on your header2.php and save it in the wordpress header.php file. then let wordpress do its thing!

Hate the way we dont have items on the sidebar of the write page/post admin page now and have to scroll half way down the world to get to anything… but the rest of it seems a little prettier 🙂

No trouble transfering from 2.3 – 2.5 here.

Last chance at getting an answer to this…. I realise the forums are crammed with 2.5 disasters but any help with this would be great.

Ok done a bit of testing, pretty much figured out that no matter what I call on the page before the header is included this is ignored other than the template call..is this correct?

This is driving me mad… wordpress does allow php code to come before the header is called right?

I really cant see what the issue is!… Any help would be really great
