In reply to: Syntax errorThe problem appeared to have been with the plug-in: w3-total-cache. There evidently was something wrong with the code, so I just eliminated the plug-in.
BUT, I couldn’t get to the wp-admin page until I went into the code, which was in a directory on my host’s server at GoDaddy. The instructions esmi gave me didn’t work, however… I modified them.
He said “FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) and rename the wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache folder to wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache-old.”
That didn’t work. So I went to that file and deleted “w3-total-cache” and that DID work,
I reloaded the WP-admin page that was showing the error message and bingo, there was my own page.Hope it works for you.

I decided to manually delete db.php and, amazingly, that worked.
I don’t know what plugin that was associated with, do you?
Important because I don’t EVER want to download it again.
If you know, please pass the name along.
thanks for your patience.

In reply to: Syntax errorThe following have been accomplished
wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache folder to wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache-old
andRename the wp-content/advanced-cache.php file to wp-content/advanced-cache.php.old
and the error message I get is:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/content/r/m/m/rmmiles/html/edit30/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/Db.php on line 190
REALLY appreciate your help with this!

In reply to: Syntax errorokay, got it renamed, so that takes that directory out of action. Don’t I have to put a new similar directory in its place?
And I am still getting the error stating…W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/content/r/m/m/rmmiles/html/edit30/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
sorry for being a pain

In reply to: Syntax erroresmi,
pardon my ignorance, but I don’t seem to have the file you mention. The closet I can come to it is:
wp-content > plugins > w3-total-cache > wp > content > then there are other files but none for
any guidance?
Thanks in advance
