In reply to: HTTP Error Uploading ImagesSaurus, I’ve *bothered* to read every post on image erros I could find, including Otto42’s.
The first paragraph in Otto42’s post implied that I probably didn’t install things correctly the first time, and so I should now “download and install every file.” How would I do that without starting from scratch?
I’m just a bit irritated that I have to write code just to get an image from my local machine (and I’m not going through any local server or a proprietary database) into a post in this high-functioning piece of software known as WordPress. TypePad doesn’t have this problem. Facebook doesn’t have this problem.
Why does it require a degree in Computer Science to upload an image in WP? Why don’t the buttons just *work*?

In reply to: HTTP Error Uploading ImagesSaurus, I’m brand new at this. Some things you can take for granted make no sense to me yet. And I have *bothered* to read every post on image errors I could find, including Otto42’s.

RE: .htaccess file. How would I do this? Otto42’s post just said “make one.”

In reply to: HTTP Error Uploading ImagesMy problems persist.
I have been able to upload images to my site with no problem, until the last two weeks or so. And now WP won’t accept any new images from me at all. It’s crazy-making, especially since I have the newest version of WP already operating.
So, you’re telling me the only solution is to essentially reinstall everything?
