@icegram: As I said above, I’ve switched to another plugin. After your first attempt at solving the issue, it persisted for me and I didn’t hear back for five days that you were still looking into it so I couldn’t wait any longer.

as I didn’t hear back from you after my last message, I’ve now uninstalled the plugin and switched to another one.The problem persists.
Thank for the feedback! I’d appreciate a somewhat quick solution since people need to sign up to our newsletter at the moment (beginning of term) and otherwise miss out on important information.

My problem is more serious than @pamb083006’s – on my site, users can’t subscribe to the newsletter. I deactivated some plugins that might interfere (security, spam protection etc.) to no avail.
Are there any more ideas?
