In reply to: Blog Theme with view to releasealright, to get the sidebars repeating down, you’d get an image 760 pixels wide, with a white background and with a grey patch on each side the width of the sidebars, then you set the the rap background like so:
background: url(images/imagelocation.gif) repeat-y;
and it will go all the way down the page, and it’ll look dandy.
Random example would be DarrenBarefoot.com. You can see his background image here

In reply to: Can WordPress handle 3,000 categories?As the others have said, WordPress may handle something like that, but it’s hardly designed to, and you’d be way better off with something built to handle such a project

In reply to: Blog Theme with view to releasealright, it’s looking better now. The sidebars are still way to patterned. I’d seriously consider just making them white, or maybe grey. What would look best would be getting a background images repeating down the page, and then you could have the sidebars stretching to the bottom.
also, the links with the box around them don’t look too hot….
but yeah, it’s starting to look better

In reply to: Blog Theme with view to releaseNot trying to get in a flame war, just bringing you a users perspective:
Joe WP user could care less what validation is. He doesn’t even know. He just want’s the slickest looking three column theme out there.
Take another look at your theme. I don’t doubt the codebase is good, but when I said I clicked away instantly, I wasn’t kidding. You need to do a complete overhaul of the visuals. If nothing else, scrap the color red from your brain, and replace it with #fff

In reply to: Picking a Host – Feedback on Mydomain.com?NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Do NOT, use Yahoo! hosting. They are far and away the worst hosting company I have ever had to deal with.
Go with asmallorange.com, mediatemple.net, or bluehost.com. Those three are universally recommended.

In reply to: Ultimate Tag Warrior install problemBrilliant advice like “there’s no reason for it not to work” should do the trick, shouldn’t it?
Come now, you’ll probably not admit it but you were doing something wrong, weren’t you? And you said you weren’t earlier, and I said that if you truly weren’t, then it would be working. Obviously I was right

SK is more likely to block normal users though.
if you really want a firewall, install both. they don’t interfere with each other, and you shouldn’t even have a hint of spam
