I was able to figured it out on my own. What I found was that if I put part or the whole post in the exerpt part of the writting page, it would show what I put in correctly. So, my suggestion for anyone encountering the problem of the text running off the page and not wrapping when looking at the categories, would be to put some or all of the post into the excerpt part. I even was able to get the photo to show when I clicked on the categories.
