In reply to: Subdomain error establishing database connectionHaving the same issue with wordpres, and I’m no noob.
Having set up several mu blogs in the past, it looks like this is a bug with wp 4.2.In my case it’s with subdirectories…
Anyone having a solution for that?

In reply to: Tables not created -Error establishing a database connectioncan you exactly list up what is happening?
In addition, if you haven’t done yet, delete your browser cache.
Then got back to your site, hit ctrl + r to dump all date from
the previously loaded site and reload the page.On Mac i think it’s apple + r
Also try logging in withanother browser.

In reply to: Domain mappingAh I think i got the question wrong.
If your’re mapping to another domain, you can’t use subfolders there.
Only subdomains and maindomains with wildcard setting of the hoster. Not sure though, maybe needs to be confirmed by a 2nd opinion.
Here’s an Update:
I was able to login with FireFox. So I guess this can be considered as a bug with Chrome…

In reply to: Need answers about a chain of Sub DomainsOk, so after you’ve finished the setup you’ll have the network admin settings.
There is where you can set your default Theme for all installations.
If you want to have custom styles it pretty much depends on what the theme supports. You either have to change the CSS (create a childtheme for that) or do the changes withing the Themesoptions.
WordPress automatically takes the theme that you have defined to be default.
If you have a couple of themes intstalled you can change it in every single wpblog.did this answer your question?

In reply to: Tables not created -Error establishing a database connectionThat’s correct, you won’t need it on sub-directories.
Please answer me these questions:
1. Did you try a fresh installation with an empty database?
2. What tables are you trying to import?
3. What exactly is it that you want to do with them?
4. What’s the prodedure you’ve follwoed when importing that tables into the DBForum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Domain mappingFor domain mapping you would want to go for subdomains plus a domain mapping plugin.
Here’s a video tutorial for the steps after you’ve setup the multisite network: Mutli Domain Mapping Tutorial

In reply to: Tables not created -Error establishing a database connectionHi,
did you consider to create a CNAME record at your maindomain to allow WP creating multiple subdomains? You can do so via DNS Zone editor within the cpanel of your hostingprovider.
If you didn’t so do the following:
1. Create a subdomain like this: *.mydomain.com
2. Go the the / advanced zone editor and check if a new record like in the screenshot was created: Create a record-> If not, create one your self.
You will have to wait up to 24 hours in order to see the changes.

In reply to: Need answers about a chain of Sub DomainsHi,
what you want to look for is to create a multisite network, in your case with sub domains.
If you’re planning to have multiple users per domain then you would want to go that way. Other than that I’d recommend to go for subderectories, for better Google rankings and SEO purposes, so your urls look like this
- maindomain.com/user#1
- maindomain.com/user#2
- maindomain.com/user#3
Here are a few links to check out with tutorials explaing in detail how to set it up:

In reply to: MU-Domain-Mapping — integrating different domains to a mu blogI don’t know if my english is good enough to explain…
So i try it once again.I don’t want to have the domain URL sitename.example1.com or example1.com/sitename as it is usual and i know how to do this.
I just want to use example1.com as the main mu adminstration to
organize all my different wp blogs from different domains.
This means that if i register a new subsciber from example2.com
i don’t want to log in at this blog. Instead i want to manage it from as the superadmin at example1.com.I.e. example2.com or example3.com should be managed and administrated with with my mu blog superadmin from example1.com.

In reply to: MU-Domain-Mapping — integrating different domains to a mu blogActually i don’t want to create domain mapping.
I have my mu administration blog on example1.com and
i want to add several domains to it having the blog at example1.com as my central user base.i.e. example2.com or subdomain.example2.com which are running seperatly but they should belong to my mu blogging network from example1.com
so i can make one update for all the blogs at one time.Is there also a possibility to integrate already existing blogs to my mu network?
Thanks for your time Ipstenu, i appreciate it!
