  • You’d be better off to look for a specialized freelancer to cover your work.
This is a heck of work for someone who’s not a pro in that area.

What you are asking for is pretty complex, and requires knowledge of multisite, bbpress, buddypress and multi-languages. If you are really serious about needing this by May 25, I would hire someone quick. ReenPf is right, this is pretty difficult for someone without professional-level skills in those areas.

That’s not to say you couldn’t do it, but it’s going to take you a lot longer than four weeks– at least it would take me a lot longer than that! 🙂

OK, I appreciate the above comments and I am now looking for a local webdev (in Argentina). However, is there no one on this site who can even tell me if I am on the right track? Is the process described herein even close to being correctly ordered?? That’s all I need to know just to begin the local dev.

First off, if these sites have even moderate traffic, you are going to probably need more than a low-cost shared hosting plan. Personally, I think I would develop this on a live server rather than local– it’s going to get tricky setting up all the domains/urls, and you might as well not work through it all twice.

I think you are going to need to decide between subdomain or subdirectory multisite networks–I’m not sure that you can make both work at the same time.

You might want to look at this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-multi-network/

In general, I think your proposed order works: get multisite going, get buddypress/bbpress going, then worry about themes.

    Thank you, Bet!

You make a valid point about livesite vs localsite…
