In reply to: ISP updated PHP to 7.3 and error log filling with this errorWorked like a charm. Edited plural_forms.php, deleted both error logs – no more errors! Thanks again.
I may use WPStaging to try an update to 5.X and see what happens when I get so spare time 🙂

In reply to: ISP updated PHP to 7.3 and error log filling with this errorHah! First thing I read is:
“Before you go any further, make sure you’ve updated your plugins and themes to the latest versions,…”
I am using a self modified version of Twenty Eleven and it is just fine. This is the kind of stuff that worries me

In reply to: ISP updated PHP to 7.3 and error log filling with this errorThanks Dion. I shall look. And exactly on plugins. For example, I have a slider and gallery that works just like I like it. I hesitate to update them and have something that is working well change.

In reply to: ISP updated PHP to 7.3 and error log filling with this error403’s turned out to be a browser UA string error. Fixed.
I see the changelog, Steve. Anywhere to read about the issues they caused or “gotchas”? I like to be forearmed.

In reply to: ISP updated PHP to 7.3 and error log filling with this errorOK 🙂
Is there any other risk other than block editor wit a 5.xx update? Or a pointer to learn what will/might change from 4.98?
And thanks again Steve.

In reply to: ISP updated PHP to 7.3 and error log filling with this errorThanks for the reply Steve.
I built my website a long time ago with trial and error. Forgotten most of what I have learned since not often used, but know I have the editor working “for me”. I hate to update to something brand new and risk things not working and a long curve to learn how to fix things. SO much prefer to stay with 4.98
Error logs: Seem to be more than one and different sizes but with the same recent errors. Safe to delete both? I can check paths if needed.
Is there no way to update the plural-forms.php by itself?
Thanks again.

In reply to: [picu - Online Photo Proofing Gallery] Save image asGot it. And I do watermark. Though image could be cropped as I don’t like watermarks across the center of a image. This should suit my needs. Appreciate it.

In reply to: [picu - Online Photo Proofing Gallery] Save image asThanks. Will check your link.
If you don’t think this is the best way, what do you recommend? I can’t see making it easy for a client to download an unfinished image, so I do think it needs protection.

In reply to: Plugin changes and Test 5.0Thanks for the reply. Never notified of a reply or I would have checked back sooner.
I looked more thoroughly and its only 1 of 21 plugins with the “opt in” option. So I clicked it and it brought me to their pages where they wanted to be able to auto-update their plugin and send me mail. Now I understand/ But as you say, odd.
5.0 took me by surprise. I did my own site, learned by searching for answers. Have just what I want and don’t want to learn and redesign again.I worry about things breaking.
Appreciate the pointer on testing/ If I understand, by doing this I have a totally separate domain aside from the one I have now that will remain live? The new “test” will look and function just like what I have today and if I update there it does not touch the original and still live site? If so, worth a try.

In reply to: 4.7.4 removes adsense adsMy bad. New ad blocker did not recognize my site and was hiding them.

Thanks for the reply.
Compact album and basic thumbnail galleries.
Not at all a big deal, but just a ittle added polish to the pages if I can get them page centered horizontally.
Thanks again.

Thanks so much. I would have never associated Hidden Images with spanning pages of the gallery 🙂
I think I will have to live with the header. It only becomes an issue is you open a gallery or image with the header on-screen. If it has scrolled off, no issue. So maybe not a common occurrence.
Thanks again.
