In reply to: Lots of 404 on Google Webmaster ToolsMy site is not even a month old and I have already 24 404s. These sites never appeared on the sitemap (which btw is not updated automaticaly). Some aren’t even pages but paths to .xml documents from plugins like the playlist of my mp3-player which google actually showed on serp – so wired!
In WMT I just found the option “mark as corrected”. That makes the 404s disappear. And if those pages/filepaths don’t exist actually nor on the sitemap and/or are blocked in robots.txt they shouldn’t be coming back again, right?

In reply to: Wired page descriptions on google serp [NSFW]Thank you very much for your reply Krishna!
I do have all the description tags filled in and GWT show in total 1 problem. And that’s a missing title tag of a “plugin page” that doesn’t even exist in the first place, and if it would the robots.txt would disallow to crawl it…
Thanks for your advice, I know now where the problem lies and where to look for answers.

In reply to: Customer "Reset Password" EmailWell, generally it’s impossible to hide the fact that you use wordpress. You can try to make it less obvious though.
I use WP-Mail-SMTP plugin to use a custom email address so mails are not sent from wordpress, and the Erident Custom Login and Dashboard plugin to customize the login/register page. But still there is a lot of places where one can tell that it’s a wordpress login, like the links sent in the mails to register or reset.
You would have to completely outsource your memberships with a plugin like WP-Members. Pretty good plugin, but a huge effort and real pain to set up. I gave up on that after 2 days of tinkering.
