It is hardware issue. The hard drive is faulty.
I installed the whole system on another server. All good now.

Thanks for your reply and sorry for the trouble.
I used self-signed certificate to set up SSL on my server for testing purpose. I forgot that I accepted the risk in my browser the first time when I accessed it.
