  • Hello,

    I have many year, MANY year experience with different types of bulletin-boards. Now, if you’re looking to find a good software to use, I would definitely go with vBulletin, or XenForo, or even IP.Boards.

    I can give you a list of boards you can use, I would recommend opening the forum, not in wordpress, but in a different directory on your site.

    Free Forum Software’s:

    MyBB
    PHPbb
    Simple Machines
    SimpleBoard

    Paid Forum Software’s:

    vBulletin
    XenForo
    IP.Board

    NOTE: I’ve listed these softwares first to last, meaning the best one first. They’re all good softwares though.

    I’m not sure what you’re really asking here. But if you switched host, it would be a different host name – NOTE: Not all host names are localhost. Call, open a support ticket, or even look for yourself in your hosting dashboard, and maybe under (MySQL Databases, or PHPMYadmin), they probably have a different host name.

    e.x;

    000webhost (free hosting provider) – There hostnames are usually mysql1.000webhost.com thru mysql16.000webhost.com
    HostGator (paid hosting provider) – There hostnames are localhost all the time,

    again, have a look, or open a support ticket to see what your host name is, if this isn’t the problem, then again – support ticket, ask them what is wrong with the images that aren’t posting / showing up. It could be a problem on there end.

    Hmmm, if you were trying to update your website, from an older version, to the current version which is 3.8.1 I believe, and once you clicked update your site in the admin panel (dashboard as you would say) and your site (admin panel) is not coming up. Go into your hosting cPanel, >> File Manager >> (Your WordPress Directory) – There should be a file, I am not sure what it’s called right now, but I am 80% sure it’s called – .MAINTENANCE – if you see this file – delete it.
