Sjuare and Joy Thank you for attempting to help, Wordfence is a firewall. but they are running a program to change ip addresses every attempt, Impossible to block them all. And the login is not a default.

I was hoping to find a solution to stop the thing being running against the site altogether.

I agree with the whack a mole. Not a good long term solution. especially for something like this.
I set up blocks for all the common usernames. Its set pretty tight, but I don’t want them to get lucky.
I like the 2FA Idea. I will do that for sure.
