In reply to: Believe my WP was hacked.Thank you all.
Songdotech, thank you for the added info.
I’ll review..I did work with my host on this, they reviewed the entire account (files on the account), and the logs.
I’ve been with them since ’96, nothing but the best support, and this is my first incident of being hacked.
I have many shared accounts with them, and a few dedicated servers for other projects/products.Where we are at now…
We found that the hackers came in with a set of “correct” WP Admin credentials, and put their set of files in, that strange .html I mentioned above, and the real core of it was in the footer.php for the custom theme. It had hundreds of lines of code.
There were two other developers when the site was being first developed, looks as if it was one of those set of credentials.
Deleted those users and changed the admin password to a newer one that WP admin panel generates.Forum: Fixing WordPress

FYI,
I’ve googled the name of the odd ball filem, ” jordan-retro-11s-72-10.html”, and it seems a bunch of sites are hacked. With the help of one of my guys, we found in the footer.php, a ton of code that shouldn’t be there. Cleaned up that footer file, and it’s gone.

In reply to: 3.2 upgradeso reset the plug in folders, nothing….
and just uninstalled wp-super-edit and upgraded, still not showing anchors… and now the new version of wp-super-edit, when enabling the font tools, I loose my visual edit menu.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: 3.2 upgradeok, went into one of my sites that is least critical and has the most plugins… only 2 in common with all the others, super cache and super edit.
running 20/11 theme…
deactivated all, deleted all unused plugins in that site, ftp’d in and make sure the house was clean.
same old same old in both FF and AS browsers.
cant see the anchor tags.since there were strange occurrences , where the anchor tags decided to show themselves in the AS browser… it seems to be more of a rendering problem by WP…
I haven’t tried reseting the plugins yet via the procedure above…. not looking forward to loosing settings.. and very much doubt it would work… just seems like a rendering problem since it’s acted every so slightly different on AS .

In reply to: 3.2 upgradeI have not tried to deactivate ALL, will try.
I am using Twenty Eleven theme on one of the 4… and it acts exactly the same as the others… the only plugin they all have in common is super edit and super cache (which is turned off , but not deactivated).Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: drop-down menu for sub-pagesWell, you won’t believe this! It’s so simple – it’s done by drag-and-drop. You just add all the menu items you want, then drag the sub-menu items a little to the right to where you want them and there you are. Couldn’t be easier. Thanks for your help – if I hadn’t got your response I might have just given up trying to figure it out!
thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
this was driving me nutz…. first time using the default theme, and thought I’ve seen this as a common feature of the default theme… but it didn’t work…

In reply to: [WP Super Edit] [Plugin: WP Super Edit] After update, SuperEdit not working…just a shot in the dark, I don’t know why….
Have you tried turning off super cache?
The try to enable and then disable TinyMCE 2.X comp?I’ve had the strangest issues with super cache.

In reply to: [WP Super Edit] [Plugin: WP Super Edit] After update, SuperEdit not working…no kidding, I was thrilled , so then finally spent the time to make all my WPSE edit icon bars look the same.. LOL – got tired of them all being different…
let me know if it worked for you…. not that I know what else to try.
Just good info for everyone else and the developer I guess.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Super Edit] [Plugin: WP Super Edit] After update, SuperEdit not working…I’ve played around with this, and it turns out I had to go into the WPSE’s set up and turned off (unchecked) “TinyMCE 2.x Compatiblity” and I got WPSE back and working on all my sites.

In reply to: Upgrade tot 3.1 leaves website blank: Fatal error!I have to agree , WP is a hobbyist platform that had taken hold even with many professional designers, my bro who is in the business talked me into it, to get away from DW and notepad….
I’m only running 5 sites via WP, the rest are still good old DW/notepad.
I found a lot of advantages with WP… BUT..
With the updates, I start with the pure hobby sites I have and try the updates on them, and then work my way up to the couple that are very important.. so I have an idea of what I’m getting into.
I’ve noticed with WPSuperCache, seemingly strange things happen with even the the smallest changes to pages or the site.
I’d guess it’s the reason you saw your site just fine and dandy that night and the next day – pooof, all gone. There’s a lot of little quirks in WP that I’ve learn to live with.
Including, I’m soo use to backing up and running a site local on my HD with pure html and basic structure I’ve been using since 1995 , that running a site out of a DB with so much underpinning to make it happen, is just unnerving – LOL .. Ah, for the simpler days.As my mom always said, “you play – you pay” ….

In reply to: Upgrade tot 3.1 leaves website blank: Fatal error!Tnx soo much for this thread.
I have 5 wp sites I run.
3 of them, I had upgraded all the plugins 1st, just out of luck, and then did the upgrade on WP through my my hosting software management panel… and no problem.#4, didn’t go into WP and update the plugins 1st, just pushed the WP update through my hosting software management panel, and it failed.
Tried again, failed.
Went to the site, tried to get into the WP admin for that site…
and got:
” Fatal error: Class ‘WP_List_Table’ not found in …… line 76 “
Some pages worked, some didn’t ,some had the same error, others slightly different.Ugh,, did a search found this thread.
FTPed into that site, deleted the directory for BackWPUp , and from my hosting software management panel, pushed the WP update again, and it worked. And now I can get back into #4 site’s WP admin panel…
Wheeeeo…Now #5, the biggest most important one I manage, did a back up, made sure all plugins are up to date first, and with fingers crossed, pushing the update……. wheeoo, that worked fine !!!
Lesson learned, update plugins first!
