In reply to: register_http_request_failed … SSL connection timeoutI talked to the support staff at inmotionhosting. They have confirmed that their firewall is not blocking any requests between my host and wordpress.com. They can ping the server, but all http/https requests are being blocked. This appears that wordpress.com is blocking requests from certain IP address. Probably a blacklist of some sort. Of course, with shared server hosting this makes it very difficult for individual websites.

In reply to: register_http_request_failed … SSL connection timeoutDitto here. This same problem has also knocked the older wordpress.com stats plugin offline.

In reply to: wp_comments consistently crashingNever mind. I went ahead and made a copy of the wp_comments table and then replaced the crashing table with the new one. Things have been fine ever since.

In reply to: RSS doesn’t work, get 404 errorOh, one last thing. If I change the Permalink structure, I no longer get a 404 error, I get a No Input File Specified message.

In reply to: RSS doesn’t work, get 404 errorOK, I’m at my wits end on this one as well. I’m running IIS so the .htaccess, as far as I know, doesn’t apply to me. I’ve made sure that the appropriate users have file level access to my blog files. I’ve tried updating my permalinks to several different designs, but with no luck. Anyone got any suggestions for us poor IIS people? Thanks.
