hi champ, so I have the solution and a big request to you 😉
The Basic Auth was indeed responsible for the fact that the images could not be moved. Why this was the case only in some cases or mainly via smartphones, I don’t know – but I don’t really care 😉
However, I had to have the option “user can edit this field” turned off during testing and of course forgot to turn it on again.
Despite that the option was disabled, the user could upload images without error message. These files were also stored in the temp folder and only the moving was prevented. In the Debug.log was only something about “Warning: filesize(): stat failed for” and “readfile … failed to open stream:”. This was extremely confusing and cost me several hours of searching and some gray hair.
I would be happy to see a more meaningful error message. But yes, you learn from mistakes 😀
Anyway, my page works now and the thread can be closed. Thanks a lot..hi champ, yes I am using the latest version and the directory permissions are set to 775, I checked again.
I think it’s on the stage-sytem at the basic authorization, apparently that doesn’t like file operations. I will move my version to the live system and then test again. I’m running out of ideas.Hi champ, I have included the theme from generatepress and made a few css changes in an extra child theme. All other customizations have been created in extra plugins.
After the question I have now disabled ALL plugins except UM and included the theme Twenty-Twenty. Now the text fields I can still change, but the image upload fields now only create the image in the temp folder and are no longer moved. What I notice (see this link), also here is missing this unique ID and the 2nd hyphen…. 🙁
