In reply to: 500 error after upgrading to 2.0.5 — Nothing fixes itMy hosting guys figured it out: Using the .zip file (rather than the tarball) causes some of the files to upload as having 777 permissions, and this breaks my hosting. It’s all better now. Yay!

In reply to: ‘send to editor’ function for images doesnt workHi, Sorry to be so verbose but as this is a critical issue for me, I’d really appreciate if someone could tell me, if not how to fix it, then at least how to work around it. Is there a URL I can use in a hand-typed “img” tag that will let me display the images I’ve uploaded, even with the “send to editor” function broken? I’ve tried a couple guesses, but none of them have worked. FYI, my uploads are going to the “upload” folder with no subfolders, and as I mentioned above, all of my wordpress files are in my site’s root folder as of now. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide!

In reply to: “Send to editor” does not work in IE/Firefox (Mac or windows)This seems to be a description of this bug.
However, it doesn’t seem to apply to me. My wordpress install is in the root of my domain (/var/www/html), and in the “Options” page all of the URIs are set to http://www.puredoxyk.com, which is the domain root. So I’m not forwarding to a different URI. Grr! For a minute there I thought I’d figured it out!
(Sorry for posting this in two places, but two threads got started with this same issue and I wanted to make sure both of them had this info.)

In reply to: ‘send to editor’ function for images doesnt workCleared the cache in both Firefox and IE; re-uploaded all wp-includes/js files from a freshly-downloaded copy and checked all permissions; and it’s still doing the same thing in both browsers.
Darnit!

In reply to: “Send to editor” does not work in IE/Firefox (Mac or windows)I just went through and replaced every file in my wp-includes/js folder with a fresh copy, and checked all the permissions, and I still have the same problem. When I hover over the “send to editor” link, it says “javascript(void)” in the bottom toolbar, and when I click it, nothing happens.
More help, please! Or a workaround — I just want to be able to use images!
Thanks,

In reply to: “Send to editor” does not work in IE/Firefox (Mac or windows)Yup, as posted in another thread, I have this problem with Firefox running on both a Win2k Pro and an Ubuntu box, and though I don’t have IE on the Ubuntu machine (heh), it doesn’t work in IE either on the Windows box. I get the Javascript error, and it does nothing.

In reply to: ‘send to editor’ function for images doesnt workTurning off all the adblock and related Firefox extentions had no effect. I even uninstalled them just to be sure; no dice.
And by the way, I’m having the same problem with Internet Explorer, too — it throws a “syntax error” and does nothing.
Would really like help with this if possible!
Thanks,

In reply to: ‘send to editor’ function for images doesnt workI’m having the same problem, as well as a couple other minor issues with the admin interface (i.e. the rich edit tools won’t show up anymore). The other minor issues showed up when I upgraded to wordpress 2.0, but I’d never tried using images before, so as far as I know, the send to editor function might never have worked.
I’m using Firefox 1.5.0.6 and I have Adblock installed, but it’s set to whitelist everything on my site, so it shouldn’t be interfering. (In fact, I’m almost positive it isn’t, since it was at first and I had to shut it off to stop the problems.)
Other extentions I’m running are NoScript (also disabled on my site), FlashBlock, Google Toolbar, Deepest Sender, Foxmarks, BugMeNot and Gmail Skins. I can’t imagine any of those would have an effect–?
Thanks for your help,

In reply to: Blog broken after 2.0.3 to 2.0.4 upgradeI should have known; I always have permissions problems with this server. I upload things one way (755), they get changed to another, and I have to go through every single folder and manually change them back, apparently. (For others who might read this, I had to make sure ALL the permissions in ALL the wp-content and wp-admin folders were correct per the Codex link.)
It’s working now, though; thanks!
