In reply to: Unzipping wordpressI followed the instructions on the link.. got the XAMPP installed, created the folder in htdocs for WordPress and extracted the files into the folder… I did copy of wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php
I saw this one13. The connection details you need are as follows:

I also saw this way

define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘localhost’); // 99% chance you won’t need to change thisI didn’t know what MySQL username and Password was.. it never asked me to set one up.. so left them as this 2nd instructions…
I put localhost/phpmyadmin in a browser and get Page not found…I probably did something wrong I’m sure but not sure where I went wrong… and not sure where to go to fix and continue.. I don’t want it to put anything online..I only want to be able to bring up WordPress and play with it to try and design a website using it because I have no clue how to use.. am only using a wysiwyg type web designer and my host would like me to use WordPress, but until I can figure out how to use it and design a website that looks good, I don’t want it online and messing up my website that is online.. so I saw that this could be loaded and used and not post anything online… If there is another way to learn this WordPress and work with it, I can do that… If this will allow me to create a web design, preview it and all without it going online, I need to figure it out somehow…

I’ve installed XAMPP and then installed WordPress into the correct folder.. but am now lost as to how to set it up so can use it to try and create a web design… I want to be able to learn how to use wordpress and create my website design offline … I have a website that I maintain for my son..which was created in a wysiwyg web designer… I want my own design theme.. not what wordpress themes are out there so I want to play with this wordpress to try and design a new website.. but don’t want it online at all until I have it ready to go… How do I do this …

I have been creating some design ideas in Photoshop but would be nice to be able to learn wordpress and learn my designing in it.
