the sample above should read <pre>[post_content]</pre>

I’m most concerned with them in the titles of the posts.

for example, if I put this title in the field when I’m making a post:

“That’s what she said,” he said

then this is what wordpress shows as the title of the post when I view it:

“That’s what she said,” he said

and when I try to use SimpleXML to post the titles elsewhere on my site, the curly quotes get changed to 3 or 4 character long unprintable character strings. All I want is for WordPress to continue to use straight quotes.
