Thank you for this info. Bumping the site up to PHP 7.1.8 did the trick. Thank you for your help and quick reply!
Also having an issue since updating to this new version. On WP Admin side calendar popup no longer comes up, nor the ability to add a new venue inline while making a new event. Downgraded to previous version from a backup and this problem went away. May be caused from what @eastdevonalliance was saying. Did not check my error console before downgrading.
