In reply to: Please Review My Website!Having items like Privacy Policy and Disclaimer in the prominent top menu doesn’t make it look that professional. You might want to move that.

In reply to: Skating Rink Website – Feedback NeededThe homepage has a lot of empty space. The blog style theme you are using may not be the most suitable option for the type of website you are building.

In reply to: activating new themes w/out starting over from the beginningA theme just arranges how your content (posts and pages) is displayed. You don’t lose any content switching to another theme. You may need to set up your menus, sidebars, tabs, headers, options on your custom homepage layout etc when you switch to a new theme (that’s normal), but you don’t lose any content.
Have a look at the set up instructions with your new theme or seek support from the developer if you are having issues.

In reply to: Taking older theme, making new?Have you actually tried the theme yourself?
It’s claimed the theme is compatible with WordPress 3.1. So in most cases there should be no problems using it on the latest WP version.

In reply to: Competition for the harshest site reviewFor the main navigation menu you might want to considering adding categories currently in your sidebar, and remove the less important ones like sitemap, contact etc to help ease of use and navigation.
The theme design is pretty boring also, so maybe consider using a more attractive, professional theme.

In reply to: Review my websiteIt’s a good start. It’s not good practise to hotlink images from other sites as you have done on one of your posts. Apart from that looks OK, just keep writing.

In reply to: Do I have what it takes?I defiantly think you have potential. You’ve got a good looking site and while you don’t have many products, what you have looks nice. I would question the pricing as it’s on the high side, which may limit your sales, particularly international sales.
If you want to see if you have what it takes try some advertising on Google or Facebook etc to really get some traffic to your site and check the results.
All the best

In reply to: Elegant themes and ecommerce feedback?Elegant Themes have good quality themes and solid support. However there are lots of other good premium WordPress themes worth looking at also. It’s really a matter of finding who has the best theme design for your needs.
There are probably better and free ecommerce options. For example Jigoshop, WP-ecommerce, WooCommerce etc. WooCommerce is probably the best and it’s free.
There are also photography / portfolio WordPress themes available with WooCommerce integration that might be worth looking at. For example Photographer theme from Organic Themes, Photostore from Mint Themes etc.
You won’t go wrong with WordPress.

In reply to: need a themeYou won’t find a WordPress theme with that functionality ‘out of the box’. I would suggest you will need to create your own solution using contact or forms plugins (such as Gravity Forms for example) for the functionality you require.

In reply to: Free Themes or Paid/Premium THemesThe free version should be able to function and display exactly as shown in the free version preview.
You certainly don’t need to purchase a WordPress theme. However I believe there is a paid pro version of Hatch which is supposed to have additional control, layout sections, and extra theme options.
