oh, no problem :p
after reading some other older threads, I found a plugin that modifies/disables the heartbeat.. Heartbeat Control (//wordpress.org/plugins/heartbeat-control) that I’m temp using to disable it so I can get some work done.
Still need a better native solution so this doesn’t happen again.it can be any time from about 3 mins to 20 mins.. its very frustrating and really detracts from our workflow.
I’m not seeing any errors in firebug’s console…

I’m pretty sure its not a conflict (tested it previously) and / or theme issue.. it is quite intermittent so, yeah gonna be tough to figure out root cause beyong admin-ajax.php itself.
Not a lost connection to the server (server admin and other sites on it load fine)I just want to disable the connection lost lock out so I can continue working on the post(s) as needed.

woulda never thought to look there unless you didn’t suggest disabling the plugins. thnx.
