You don’t need a plugin to redirect user you put the following line to your login form
<input type=”hidden” name=”redirect_to” value=”here u type your page u want them to go”/>
You can use the register plus plugin for people to register and manage the content with the user management plugin.
You will need to type in the url of your blog, plus the folder you saved your worpress files and wp-admin.
for example:
http://www.myblog.co.uk/blog/wp-admin

The members plugin will still display the content tabs with a message that not log in members does not have access to that content. And also won’t let me change some of the layout if they are loged in.
