In reply to: root to subdirectory redirect problemHost said there should be no difference and, in their defence, when I wiped the software and reinstalled, everything was fine so still none the wiser as to what caused the problem but as it’s working now, I don’t really care.
The only moral of the story for me is to check an install before ploughing on ahead with loading plugins/posts/theme design.

Note to self: don’t build a multisite just because you think you might want it in the future……

In reply to: root to subdirectory redirect problemExactly that, those two lines aren’t there. I can see from the graphics on wordpress.org where they are supposed to be but in my installation, they simply aren’t there. The page is:-
