The problem appears to have been created because I have deleted and recreated the same folder a number of times when using WordPress. I was under the impression that deleting the folder and database were enough to remove WP but if I reinstall with the same folder name I get this error.

If I use a new folder name I don’t get this error. I haven’t tried deleting it and then restarting httpd (apache) yet to see if that is the issue but it seems strange that using the same folder name would create an issue.

If anyone can shed some light on it I’d love to know why.
