In reply to: [Plugin: The Holy Scripturizer] Preferred bible version not used in postUnfortunately, we are only able to have the ESV show up on mouse rollover, not other translation makes the type of data the plug-in needs available. You can turn off this feature by unclicking the box titled “Rollover Tool Tip” in the admin panel.

In reply to: [Plugin: The Holy Scripturizer] Request: ESV tooltip tweaksHi Nathan,
Here is the reasoning behind the inconsistent behavior as to when tool tips appear or not. At many churches they have a translation that is the church’s standard, we’ll use NRSV as the example. Equivalent to the “default translation” in Scripturizer. But the ESV tool tips are a nice feature so why not enable them too. Back to our example, most of the time verses are quoted from the NRSV, but there may be occasion where a preacher wants to use the NASB or The Message Paraphrase to emphasize a particular word in that verse. If they are talking about that verse on their blog, and they are specifically using the NASB by putting “NASB” after the reference, then the ESV version probably won’t suffice. Showing it could prevent the writer from conveying his or her point clearly. So we opt not to show it, if the verse is referencing a particular translation. However, your suggestion to have the behavior be optional may be a good compromise.
Thanks for the CSS, that will go a long way to streamline things.

In reply to: [Plugin: The Holy Scripturizer] Request: ESV tooltip tweaksHi Nathan,
About the Tool Tip coming up when you use NASB or other translations: You can easily turn off the tool tip in the plug-in options (Settings -> Scripturizer) Look for Rollover Tool Tip. The ESV provides a service that makes it easy to dynamically pull in the verse text. Until a similar service is available for other translations there is not easy way to have the NASB text come up in the tool tip. Because of this limitation it seemed best to give the options to keep tool tips on, even if the author preferred other translations for the links.
I would be very interested in a way to do the tool tip using only CSS. If you could post the details that would be great.
Thanks for your feedback!

In reply to: WordPress.com Stats: Unique VisitorsI second that. Unique visitors is perhaps the most important statistic to a web site, yet it is missing from this plugin.

In reply to: [Plugin: The Holy Scripturizer] Switch the abbreviation ItalianHello Sirsly,
WIthout knowing PHP there is currently no easy way to do the translation. We are planning changes in the next version of Scripturizer that would make it easier to do that type of thing. But for now it would take knowledge in PHP.
Sorry

In reply to: [Plugin: The Holy Scripturizer] scripturizer helpHi Josh_Dave,
Trying to figure out where to start the troubleshooting here. So version 1.7 does work and 1.8 does not, is that correct?Do you have a page or testing site where we can view what is going on?

In reply to: [Plugin: The Holy Scripturizer] scripturizer helpNever mind the list of abbreviations, we are planning to implement this complete list: http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/share/about/#bookabbreviations

In reply to: [Plugin: The Holy Scripturizer] scripturizer helpYou could poke around in the code, but there is not a straightforward way to add more abbreviations. But it is easy enough for us to include new abbreviations as we development the next version of the plug-in. We already have a list of some abbreviations that we will be adding, which includes “2Th”, “Mt” and other very short abbreviations.
If you could create a list of abbreviations you would like to use at http://dev.wp-plugins.org/newticket that would be very helpful. (Be sure to choose “the-holy-scripturizer” in the component drop down menu)
