    I’ve found one bug now.

Google Chrome browser added up with the ‘Hola Better Internet’ app and the 4.1.1

When I removed the ‘Hola Better Internet’ app, WP 4.1.1 was quick again!

Why WP also was quick with the previous version AND HOLA AND Chrome, I can’t answer.

I just can say, that the cocktail: HOLA, Chrome and 4.1.1 works bad.

    Best wishes Peter

@cybercobre Thanks for the info about your VPS.

Sadly, I’m actually thinking of reverting to an earlier build, if it’s possible in an easy way.

    Thanks, @markrh

Yeah, you’re right. It must do something different. And Hostgator supports thousands and thousands of WP-installations, so when I as a 4.1.1 admin has the problem at their server, there must be a lot of the same inquiries about the slow WP-Dashboard.

So I don’t get, why Hostagor just shrugs it off, and ain’t iterested at all in how the newest WP interact with their servers, but just says it’s WP fault.

Whos fault it is hasn’t solved anything in the world. So I like your point of view: it’s pretty interesting how WP 4.1.1 does something different when calling the servers, that the previous version didn’t.

That should also be interesting for Hostgator, because a lot of their customers uses WP. But of course, I hope the WP-developers who has designed the 4.1.1 will look into it as well.

Thanks for your quick answer @cybercobre.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right. I don’t know what to do, than wait. Got totally mad on Hostgator. They just kept sending me links ‘How to optimize you’re WP’.

That’s not the issue. What can I optimize in WP, when I have a fresh installation, with no plugins and the standard theme.

Them: Well, you can use cache.

Me: I did use cache, but you told me to remove all plugins to get WP quicker, and cache is one of the plugins! 😀 Arrhg. 😀

Same problem here with 4.1.1, up to 30 seconds for a respond in the Dashboard. The exact same installation with same theme but a WP-version before, runs so quick and fine on the same server.

I have removed all plugins, even the theme, no deal in the 4.1.1. still so slow that you go crazy. You can’t work with anything that’s got answering times between 15 and 30 seconds in the Dashboard.

The site loads a little quicker for the viewers up to 10 seconds. But wotking within the Dashboard is hopeless.

I also did a brand new install. CyberCobre, No deal either.

I have exactly the same issue. Tried Hostgator support several times, and when they see, that I have one 4.1.1 version that is slow, and the previous version on the same server, that is quick enough, they keep telling me it’s WordPress.

I have deinstalled all plugins in the 4.1.1., I even chose the standard theme, and it’s still so slow in the dashboard, that Google Chrome often times out. It takes betweeen 15 and 30 seconds for every click in the 4.1.1 dashboard where as the previous version it only takes 1-2 seconds.

I’m sooo frustrated and don’t know what to do, and I don’t wanna update my previous WP version on the good installation to 4.1.1, because it’s really quick, even with 20 plugins and a big theme with many items.

Great looks in Firefox, but doesn’t show all persons chosen in IE, Opera, Safari and Chrome 🙁

I have the exact same problem, and I also had the All in one SEO pack, installed.

It was also the SEO pack I could see as the last thing on the post edit page, so I tried removing the All in one SEO pack, and the settings came back – but now it gets peculiar – only for a while!

2 days later, without the All in one SEO pack I couldn’t see the rest of the advanced settings again, so I gues it couln’t be the SEO pack.

Then I tried all my other plugins, one by one, and when toggeling the Vipers Vide Quicktag off, my advanced settings came back, when activating Vipers again, my settings dissapeared. I’ve tried that 5 time in a row – everytime the same reaction, so I thought I had found the problem, and deactivated the Vipers plugin.

Now, without Vipers, the problem is there AGAIN!

The Advanced settings are gone for some few post. Most often the ones that I’m editing at the time. Also the comments turns off automatic for that peticular post, and I can’t set it on again, because the settings are missing 🙂

Now I have deactivated 2 plugins, and after a while the problem comes again, so I’m not sure it’s any of the plugins. I really don’t have a clue, and I’m also ready for almost anything, just to make it dissapear.

I have changed back to WP standard theme, with no effect, so I guess it’s not my theme either. Or widgets.

My advanced settings always stops in the middle of Categories og just after Categories, so I guess it maybe could be something with categories.

Toggling a plugin always makes it work again, then I can manually turn on the comments again, and the post works like before the problem. But even with the deactivated plugin, deactivated for good, the problem returns again a few days later.

No one in the danish forum has the problem.

No one in the danish forum has the problem, and I’m a bit surprised that I’ve only found you, almost on the other side of the earth, with the same problem.

But I actually don’t believe that it was your specific plugin that caused the problem, as I could remove the fault also by deactivating some plugins one by on.

But the problems always after a while, and why should Email Notification, My SEO pack, and Vipers Quicktags cause the same problem?

I also believed that I had found the error, but I always returns, so maybe it has to do with the plugins, but I don’t think it’s a specific plugin. It’s more likely somthing with the 2.5 and now 2.6 and the plugin section.

    Thanks Moshu!

Didn’t see your comment there at first glance.

Do you mean, that if any object in the post, even if they’re not shown, will make the post to pop down under the menu, if the last picture for example is to wide.

Even though the first part of the article (until MORE) isn’t to wide?

    HI!

    Well, breaking news!

My posts jumps nicely on top of the screen, and to the left of my menu i IE6,0 and 5,5 when I adjust the main container fra 780px til 790px!

Just so peculiar that minimizing the content width didn’t work at all!

Again, Thank You so much for help and leading me in a correct direction! 🙂

    Thank you SO much, whooami!

I was so glad to see your post, really 🙂

I can easily adjust the length of the pictures, so they are just 450 pix as the post you mentioned as working fine.

But for example at a post like

    http://kulturfoto.dk/?cat=4

my picture isn’t wide at all, it’s just a portrait picture with the length of 300 px, but merged with text, and then it fails to be shown correctly in IE 6,0, and jumps down under the menu in IE6.0

So I guess you’re on the right track that IE 6,0 can’t cope with picture OR pictures+text close to the DIV of 500px.

BUT, when I in my styles.css enlarge the content width from 500px to for example 550, I can produce the same error in the new IE 7,0 – the posts jumps down under the menu, because there isn’t room enough in the width.

That sounds logical and correct, but when I try to minimize the width in content to for example 300px, the post still doesn’t place correctly on top of screen besides (left to) the menu in IE6,0?

I mean, if you have an idea that the content’s just to wide, it’s always good to try something that you know should absolutely work, and a width of 300px should absolutely work. What I can see is lots of place for both the slim 300px posts column and the menu, but still the posts jumps down under the menu in IE6,0 – peculiar, isn’t it?

Must admit that I’m a newbee and don’t know where to look!

So again thank you very much in advance!

    Best Regards Peter
