OK solved it: Try changing shortcode [checkout_paypal_express] to [checkout_paypal] in cart checkout.
I am having the exact same issue. Is this because my account has not yet been confirmed by PayPal?
A few more questions to add to jcollier’s query
[1] if the site is private or password protected is the .ics feed protected too?
[2] Can Events Manager import feeds form elsewhere such as google apps?
[3] Can you import from a CSV as you can with google calendar?
[4] +1 category or tag feed.I am having the same issue with both ie7 and ie8. as a double check, I looked at Ntarantino’s site and I get a blank in both browsers but ff works fine.

The plugin does not Cache anything though I have installed and de-installed several times and dropped all of the tables. I scheduled a cache update to ingest all of my records (13K) but I see no progress. Am I missing something?
