i appreciate your help and happy to hear you got your site working properly! unfortunately that doesn’t work for my site because it’s not a wordpress.com hosted website.

however, i think i may have figured it out on my end as well!

i had an ad blocker plugin running (and i think across multiple web browsers somehow) and this did an update and added a plugin that had social media stuff blocked. so all the images i would upload with any form of a filename that related to social media, it would be blocked from view.

i disabled all this stuff and have been playing around with things and haven’t had a problem again, yet. i’m not sure if that complete fix, as i still don’t understand exactly what happened to fix it, as that this plugin was seeming to only target my local host site and not any of the various other news and research sites i typically look thru.

if anyone has any other possible fixes or thoughts on what was making this happen, i’d be game to hear it still. thanks!
