Everything is working just fine but i think you have to work on it for future versions to give facility to put ads between related post thumbnails, as it will give user extra feature which will love.

i am using related post thumbnail plugin and this plugin is working very well with my another wordpress site.

You are right alex that wrong thumbnail error is still there even with other themes. so what to do now..?
