Thanks for your advice Steve. I created a template through Underscore, uploaded the index.php, footer.php, header.php, style.css and still get the same error.

I’m wondering if this is a server-side issue I need to resolve with the hosting company, Dreamhost. It’s frustrating because they are a WordPress supported hosting company. They have a WP install function built into their platform.
