Hi @shealabacon,
Thank you so much for the kind words and the 5-star review! We’re thrilled to hear that WP Mail SMTP has been effective and easy to set up. Your satisfaction means a lot to us and motivates us to keep improving. Thanks for choosing WP Mail SMTP!
Hi @josejimenez,
Thanks for the question, Both the free and Pro versions of WP Mail SMTP are updated together, so they’re always on the same version. The “last updated” date you’re seeing on the WordPress.org plugin page reflects the last update for both versions.
Pro simply unlocks additional features on top of the free version rather than being a separate plugin, so you’re always running the latest version regardless of which plan you’re on.
Hope that clears things up! Let us know if you have any other questions.
Hi @girdy74,
Thank you for flagging this! I’d like to confirm that this vulnerability has already been patched in Sugar Calendar v3.10.1. If you’re running that version, you’re covered.
The Wordfence report is potentially flagging this as a false positive, and we’re reaching out to them directly to get it updated and marked as resolved.
Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi @wood1e,
We haven’t heard from you in a while, so I’m going to go ahead and close out this thread for now. If you’re still having trouble, feel free to respond here at your convenience and we’ll be happy to help.

Hi @bestranger,
Thank you for sharing your feedback and for sharing more on your experience with the plugins.
I apologize for any confusion around the features on the plugin and first, I’d like both WP Mail SMTP and Easy WP SMTP have solid free versions that support a number of mailers at no cost, including Gmail, SendGrid, Mailgun, Brevo, and more. Many users run their WordPress email sending successfully without ever needing a paid plan.
Regarding Microsoft 365, previously, users were able to connect to Microsoft 365/Outlook on the free version using SMTP credentials through the Other SMTP mailer. However, Microsoft deprecated Basic Authentication (username/password over SMTP) and enforced Modern Authentication (OAuth), which broke that method for most users. This was a change made on Microsoft’s end, not ours. The API-based Microsoft 365 mailer, which uses OAuth and is more reliable, has always been a Pro feature due to the complexity involved in building and maintaining it.
For some more insight and if you’re looking for a free alternative with similar reliability, we’d recommend Brevo, they have a generous free tier, and all versions of both plugins can connect to it via a built-in mailer using the Brevo API and you can still use this with your Microsoft 365 / Outlook based domain email. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get it set up.
We’re always happy to help find the right setup for your needs and also don’t hesitate to open a support thread if you hit any blockers or need further guidance on this.
Kind regards.
Hi @wood1e,
Thanks for the follow-up and for digging into this further!
I went ahead and tested this on my end and was able to get it working, I’ll include a screencast so you can see exactly how it’s set up: https://a.supportally.com/v/XyLxhc
Regarding the single.html file you’re seeing under /2025/templates, that’s part of the block theme template structure. That said, adding a single.php template should override it, which is worth trying if you haven’t already.
Since I’m unable to replicate the issue on my end, something specific to your setup may be causing the button not to load. To help narrow this down, I’d recommend testing the same setup on a clean WordPress install with no other plugins or customizations active. If the issue persists there, please also check for any error logs that might point to what’s going wrong and share them with us, that would help us investigate further.
Let us know how it goes!

Hi @aussiesj, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with WP Mail SMTP.
I’m really glad to hear the plugin got your WooCommerce emails working right away. Regarding the issues you’re still seeing with WordPress core emails, it sounds like there may be another factor at play. WP Mail SMTP doesn’t treat different types of emails differently, it simply connects your site to your chosen mailer service so all emails (WooCommerce, WordPress core, contact forms, and so on) are sent through the same reliable mailer instead of your host’s default system.
Since you have access to WP Mail SMTP Pro, our support team would be happy to take a closer look and help you get everything sending consistently. Just reach out from your account and we’ll be glad to assist.
Kind regards,
Hi @wood1e,
Thanks once again. Your feedback is genuinely valuable, and I’ll make sure it’s noted as a feature request for better page builder compatibility.
Kind regards.
Hi @wood1e,
Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re running into.
From the screenshot you shared, it looks like the front‑end isn’t pulling in the event‑specific details, things like the event time and ticket options. This suggests that the single event template isn’t being rendered, probably linked to the Breakdance templating.
At the moment, there isn’t a shortcode that can output the full single‑event view. That page relies on the standard WordPress single post template structure.
To test this properly, could you create a single event template following the steps outlined in the documentation and see if the full event details appear as expected?
Once you’ve had a chance to try that, feel free to let me know how it goes.
Thanks.
Thanks for following up! I’m happy to clarify how WP Mail SMTP works and how to ensure your emails are sent and delivered reliably.
WP Mail SMTP does not actually send or initiate emails on its own. Instead, it acts as a bridge between your website and your chosen email service provider. That provider could be your web host’s mail server or a dedicated mailer service such as Google/Gmail, SendLayer, or another SMTP provider. The plugin simply routes your site’s outgoing emails through that service using proper authentication.
If you’re still running into issues with the setup, I recommend walking through our step-by-step installation and configuration guide to make sure everything is connected correctly.
If you encounter any blockers or challenges along the way, please don’t hesitate to reply here, including any errors that you might be seeing along with the test email log as shared.
I’ll be glad to help you get everything working smoothly.
