    Hello,
    Thanks for your answer.

My ISP is AT&T and I ran a “telnet” test on my computer (Macbook) and here is what I got:

    MyComputer:~ Myself$ telnet outbound.att.net 587
    Trying 67.195.15.5…
    Connected to smtp.att.mail.fy4.b.yahoo.com.
    Escape character is ‘^]’.
    220 smtp.mail.att.net ESMTP ready
    Connection closed by foreign host.

    MyComputer:~ Myself$ telnet outbound.att.net 2525
    Trying 98.138.84.52…
telnet: connect to address 98.138.84.52: Operation timed out
    Trying 67.195.15.5…
telnet: connect to address 67.195.15.5: Operation timed out
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host

So if I understand well I am supposed to be able to use the port 587, am I not?

Anyway if I stick to the HTTP API method that works what is the deal? Am I going to face any kind of problem?

    Thanks for your time.

    Regards,
    Oxley

    Hello,
Here is the situation. That is a bit long but I am trying to explain correctly.

I have a PayPal Pro account with a Paypal Manager account.
For that reason and following your explanation (about the set up of your plugin) I have tried to use “PayPal Payments Pro 2.0 (PayFlow)”.

I also created a Sandbox test accounts in PayPal Developer (https://developer.paypal.com/developer/accounts/).

I have copied the email address of the test account from PayPal Developer to PayPal Manager —> Service Settings/Set up/PayPal Express Checkout/PayPal Sandbox email address as explained by PayPal.

First I just want my clients to be able to pay with debit/credit cards. I don’t care about PayPal Express Checkout and whatever PayPal Stuffs so I don’t get why I have to bother with Hosted Checkout Pages and precisely PayPal Express Checkout…

Why do I have to do this?
Fact is if I don’t enter the email address of the test account in Service Settings/Set up/PayPal Express Checkout then I can not place orders.

In the set up of your plugin for the sandbox Paypal info I have used the PayPal Manager info :
PayPal Manager merchant login ID for Sandbox PayPal Vendor
PayPal Manager Password for Sandbox PayPal Password
    Nothing for User
    PayPal for Sandbox PayPal Partner

Doing so I was able to place orders and to see the transactions in the Daily activity Transaction Report of PayPal manager. I don’t see any sales in Business Activity Center but may be it is because I am in test mode…

As shown initially the refunds made though WooCommerce just refund “1.00” and there are also many duplicates transaction. Almost systematically and sometimes many duplicates for a single transaction.

So I tried to use “PayPal Website Payments Pro (DoDirectPayment)” thinking I was trying the wrong “system”.

I did so because also when creating a sandbox test account (in PayPal Developer) I can see in the profile section of the test account the TEST API Credentials.
These credentials match what is required to set up the Sandbox with PayPal Website Payments Pro (DoDirectPayment).

So when you are lost you tend to try the logical way: I had to create a Sandbox test account that gave me API credentials that are not required for a system that does not work properly (PayPal Payments Pro 2.0 (PayFlow)) when another system (PayPal Website Payments Pro (DoDirectPayment)) requires this information.

Doing so I was able to place orders and to check the detailed transactions with https://paypalmanager.sandbox.paypal.com.

But when using “PayPal Website Payments Pro (DoDirectPayment)” I can not refund from WooCommerce which si a problem. I get an error message saying “You can not refund this type of transaction”: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a5g23a023v5wln5/error%20message%20You%20can%20not%20refund%20this%20type%20of%20transaction.png?dl=0

For info in https://paypalmanager.sandbox.paypal.com I can not see the transactions made with “PayPal Payments Pro 2.0 (PayFlow)”.

    ————————————————————

    So in short words:

With PayPal Payments Pro 2.0 (PayFlow):

The refund is systematically of “1.00”.
I have almost systematically duplicate transactions (even if the amount is not charged twice).
I can see the transactions in PayPal Manager / Reports / Daily activity Transaction Report and can not do anything with it.
I don’t see any sales in Business Activity Center.

    ————————————————————

With PayPal Website Payments Pro (DoDirectPayment):

I can not refund through WooCommerce.
I can see the transactions in https://www.sandbox.paypal.com with a lot of details allowing to change the currency (if foreign payments), to create an account with foreign currency, etc, UNLIKE the basic display of PayPal Manager with PayPal Payments Pro 2.0 (PayFlow).
I can also see the notifications of payment received in the Sandbox Test Account (https://developer.paypal.com/developer/accounts).

    ————————————————————

Then I switched back to “PayPal Payments Pro 2.0 (PayFlow)” to make new tests and I can’t anymore.
Whatever I do results in “error”.

I deleted all orders in WooCommerce, deleted your plugin, used a back up 4 days backwards thinking I will start again from scratch. Fact is when reinstalling your plugin all the settings are already present. It seems a file in WordPress has kept every information even when deleting you plugin…

So now I can’t use anymore “PayPal Payments Pro 2.0 (PayFlow)” which is what I am supposed to use in theory.
Actually if you can help me being able to issue refunds from WooCommerce with PayPal Website Payments Pro (DoDirectPayment) it will be fine.

At least if I was able to start again from scratch… There is may be a table in phpmyadmin that has to be “cleaned up”…

Anyway here is the log I got after reinstalling the plugin. Hoping it can explain what is wrong.

Thanks in advance for your help because I am lost and I can not try anything else now…

    Hello,
Problem with refund too but a bit different.
I am using “PayPal Payments Pro 2.0 (PayFlow)” with your plugin.
I am in testing mode with a PayPal Manager account and whatever the amount I refund through WooCommerce I see only “1.00” refunded in PayPal Manager/Reports/Daily activity.

But the correct amount appears in WooCommerce and in the email generated.
I tried also to refund directly through PayPal Manager and I got the same result: only “1.00” refunded.

Is it because it is a test mode?

By the way I don’t see the fees taken by Paypal.
Also I have a lot of duplicate transactions.

Here is the report I got:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/79vd3afqzq2whbk/PayPal%20Manager%20Transactions.png?dl=0

Thanks in advance for your help.
Once everything will work for me I’ll make a donation because I appreciate your work so far!
