Just tried that, and unfortunately that didn’t work.

Fortunately, I tried disabling all of my plugins a second time and it worked! Turns out it was Jetpack. I missed it the first time around because activating that plugin doesn’t cause the glitch. Instead, the glitch starts when I connect Jetpack to my wordpress account, which activates several of Jetpack’s mini-plugins. I’m not sure which setting in Jetpack is the root cause, but for now they are disabled and I am slowly re-enabling the one’s I need.

Problem solved!
