Ended up with a fix to this problem by downloading and replacing the wp-content file with the latest one. I can now get into my dashboard, but did have to reupload my theme.

I’m not clear on how to do this. Do you mean create a sub-domain first and then redirect it? I have built on WP before but never rebuilt an existing site on it.
