In reply to: Truncated long blog entiresHmmm…and on the other end of this, I’d like my posts to actually *be* truncated, and hvae people click to read more. How do I do that?
My blogs can be long, and it makes the page unbearable long…no one wants to scroll! So if I just had the first couple of paragraphs under the title, that would be cool.
I don’t really understand the PHP stuff and the editor, so layman’s terms are best!!!

In reply to: After changing domain/host, blog has vanishedUhhhh…that would be a negative.
I’m still waiting to hear back from Wix–hopefully they’ll be able to help.

In reply to: After changing domain/host, blog has vanishedHow do I find my backup database? I’m not able to even log in to my WP blog at all.

In reply to: After changing domain/host, blog has vanishedNo, not anymore. It used to be, but when I changed my hosting to wix, it screwed everything up. Because I downloaded WP to my site/domain, and not separately from my website…
Here is more info on the problem I’m having:

In reply to: Changed hosting services – no admin loginHmmm…I suppose I could try that. Unfortunately, my hubby was hosting my website, and he wasn’t very helpful yesterday! I wonder if I need to do something at GoDaddy, where I have my domain name.

In reply to: After changing domain/host, blog has vanishedI did change that, but only for my website…not for the blog, as well. I hadn’t realized I’d had the WP downloaded to my domain.
Do you mean I’ll also need to change the DNS for http://www.christacannon.com/cannonfodder?

In reply to: After changing domain/host, blog has vanishedI’m having this same problem, Jamie. I’ve contacted Wix support, so we’ll see what they say. I’ve also found this:

Although it hasn’t been much help to me so far.
GoDaddy has my domain name, but I believe Wix is now actually hosting my site. My blog’s address USED to be http://www.christacannon.com/cannonfodder but now it goes to wix, where it tells me that site doesn’t exist.
I know it’s because my WP blog was actually installed at my domain, but I’m absolutely lost at this point…
Help!

In reply to: Changed hosting services – no admin loginGabby,
This is exactly what just happened to me. Have you been able to figure anything out? I haven’t created a subdomain yet…it sounds a little time-consuming and difficult.
I have my domain name through GoDaddy, and wix is now hosting. I think. I had to change the name servers from my old hosting company to point there.
I can’t log in to my WP blog anymore–I get the same problems you’re having. I’ve *found* it, but it’s just like you said–the tamplate’s all wrong, etc.
We need help! Preferably step-by-step instructions!
Cheers,
christa
