In reply to: How can I get my javascript to run?Thanks Peter. I tried everything in that document, and now my script will load, but my jquery function still doesn’t seem to execute. Note that I know verbscript does load, but jquery doesn’t seem to be working. Here’s how I’m calling the loading:
<?php add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'load_jquery' ); function load_jquery() { wp_enqueue_script( 'jquery' ); wp_register_script( 'verbscript', get_template_directory_uri() . '/appfiles/js/verbconj.js', array('jquery'), '1.0', true ); wp_enqueue_script( 'verbscript'); } ?> Here's the (test) content from the verbconj.js: window.onload = function() { document.getElementById('question').style.background = "red"; }; jQuery(document).ready(function() { // This is just to test that jQuery is working $('div').css('background', 'red'); });This is just a test to see if I can get jquery to work, but it’s not working at all. Note that the pure javascript function on top does work, but the jquery stuff doesn’t.
I’ve tried putting this in just the header, and just the footer, but neither works. I’ve also tried using the default twentythirteen theme, but this doesn’t work there, either.
Any help would be much appreciated, I’m pulling my hair out trying to figure this out!

In reply to: How to show comments in static pages?It just doesn’t show the comments. I can see them in my admin page, but they don’t show up on the public page proper. There’s no message saying “no responses” or anything like that. I have set comments to open in Settings and on the individual page.

In reply to: How to show comments in static pages?Thanks a lot tomontoast! I did what you suggested, and it does show up with a comment box and an option to send it, but the actual comments themselves don’t show up on the page. Is there some other bit of code I should insert to get it to show up?
Thanks iridiax!
How would you recommend fiddling with the php so that it doesn’t create an error that just basically wrecks the wordpress install (i.e. can’t even access the admin page anymore)? That’s what just happened to me last time I tried fooling around with the php.
