For now can you try the following workaround: navigate to BWP Minify >> Manage enqueued files >> Manage enqueued CSS files, look for file with “login” as handle, press “select” and then click on “stay at position”, then press Save changes and try again.

What rewrite rules did you add? Splitting post sitemaps does not require any additional rewrite rules.

1. I don’t see anything wrong with your sitemap, but I see that you’re also using W3TC. Try excluding your sitemaps from being cached by W3TC: http://betterwp.net/wordpress-plugins/google-xml-sitemaps/faq/#not-found-errors (see the part about W3 Total Cache).
You can then try resubmitting the
site.xmlsitemap.2. How long has it been since you submitted the sitemap? Normally you need to wait for a few days, also note that a sitemap only helps with indexing, it does NOT guarantee that your posts are indexed.

I don’t remember the reason, but could be my personal preference. The dashicon looks a little too big for me.
If others also prefer the dashicon, I would consider changing.

No problem, glad you got it working.
I’m sorry to know that you’re not happy with the plugin. However, the fact that it didn’t work for you out of the box doesn’t mean it’s a bad plugin.
Regarding the 404 page not found error, that is a known issue on certain setups. There’s a workaround here that you can try: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/getting-a-404-when-clicking-on-click-to-generate-your-sitemap-index?replies=8

It’s weird that Google is considering
post.xml,page.xmland some others as news sitemaps.Can I have the link to your post.xml sitemap?
