I don’t know anything about ‘droplets’ but the name screams ‘tiny’ to me. You might need to separate out your database to its own server at some time soon. Maybe a second droplet to start? Ask your host for recommendations.
So this same site has handled 5x the traffic that it is handling now. So I’m just trying to diagnose why now lately all of a sudden the site is going down so much. If it was an issue of running out of memory, that would have been more prominent when the site was getting that much more traffic

I have already implemented every single step from this guide. My plugins are disabled, my gravatar/comments were never even enabled from start, i’m using caching and cdn and all my images are heavily compressed. Yet I’m seeing near 100% CPU usage.

I have removed a few potential troublemaking plugins but despite I occasionally get a spike in CPU usage. Is there no way to view which process is spiking the CPU usage?

@danieliser I mean a simple sidebar optin form like this one which just stays in the sidebar and collects emails.
Usually this requires two separate plugins, one for popups and one for optins(like optinmonster). Now while mainly your plugin is for popups, I am wondering if I can create a sidebar optin form as well with it.
How do I embed an form in the sidebar?

I tried most things I can for someone who can’t read code.I also changed the msql tables to innodb to myisam and vice versa, changed values in php.ini and mysql setting etc, cleaned, repaired and optimized all tables too
I feel it is a plugin problem because the plugin is calling some function, query or data that is taking too long due to the number of posts or its a cache/buffer issue faced by the plugin. If it was a database or media library problem, the rest of the site wouldnt work perfectly. I also tried scraping on fresh sites and it works perfectly. So I am pretty sure the reason the plugin has slowed down on my main site has something to do with its interaction with the database.
