You can set up a Google AdSense account if you want Google to place relevant advertisements based on the content of your site.
Or you could get in contact with advertisers to set up your own advertising agreement and use images that you create, or with which they provide you.
To edit and change the ads, go to Appearance > Theme Options and, if the theme you’re using supports ads, you’ll see relevant spaces for Ad code and images.
A thorough clearing of the cache didn’t seem to do the trick either…am I missing something?
Update: I attempted a much smaller image to no avail. Still just white space where the image should be.
