I need a little more information. Can you send me a screen shot of what you entered on the post, or all of the guest author details. and a link to the post showing that the guest author url isn’t working?
Also, try temporarily switching to another theme. This plugin works with most themes but every theme does things a little bit differently.
If you are not trying to change the guest author name and only want to replace the url, you will need to either a) enter the author name as the guest author name or b) install a redirect plugin that will redirects urls. https://wordpress.org/plugins/redirection/

cat should be an id. Cat should be an ID, not a slug.

I have tried changing the background setting in normal mode and there is still a gray border around the book.
This was three months ago.
In my original message I said that
A) The theme has wp_head
B) I was not able to disable the theme warning at the misc page as it was not obvious as to where I would go to disable it.
Perhaps a picture of how to disable it would help.
With most nags, you just click on a button and it goes away and never comes back.
Check the title of the plugin. If it’s just ‘wordfence’, you’ve been hacked.

I’ve had this happen to one of my sites too. I’m on my second round of cleanups. I do have jetpack installed. I’m going to try Securi. I’m going to reinstall all of the plugins & enable 2fa

In the meantime, enable quickedit in the settings/guest-author-premium page and you should see the name of the guest author in the furthest column. Let me know how that goes.

Our free plugin structure for the guest author uses the same general structure as a standard WordPress user which does not have the ability to upload profile images unless added by an external plugin. We agree that this is a significant issue.
Our premium plugin supports the ability to upload profile images.

In reply to: [FakerPress] Featured Image still missingI did add a plugin that pulled the first inline image as a featured image for the ones that didn’t work. There seems to be a lot of fiddling required to get it to work properly and I would have liked to use larger images while generating a featured image. But I was ultimately able to generate what I needed.

In reply to: [FakerPress] Featured Image still missingHi, we were able to get it working consistently but only with Unsplash at Weight 10 (which is probably fine) or with the other services using a smaller image size. We had to raise post_max_size and upload_max_filesize both to 800M.
I use your plugin all of the time and I think that it would be great to have some error information, maybe a debug checkbox. I would be happy to test it for you.
