In reply to: menu and header bar disappearedThe only thing that is different on my browser is that the word ‘menu” appears beside the 3 spaces..
It is getting quite late in my corner of the world, so in the morning will look at possibly deleting the menu and rebuilding it and see if that changes anything.
I did put a note on the ocean forum, maybe there might be feed back from there in the morning..
if I can get this solved will try to let everyone know what worked so if someone else encounters this issue they can have some help too

In reply to: menu and header bar disappearedWhat I found was the breakpoints is a mobile menu setting.. I do now have a word ‘menu” beside the 3 bars that drops down, but it is huge.
I am wondering if I delete the menu off in the backend and re-build it, if the main menu might re-appear?? thinking out loud…Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: menu and header bar disappearedthanks for the reply.
When I saw my main menu was gone I deactivated the social media widget, because I suspected a conflict. When I did that the area between theamericanquarterhorse and “home” that held the menu turned blue to match my page background. when I deleted the plugin, the area totally disappeared leaving a thin white line. I went in and turned that color of the line to black in the customize settings.. but cant find the bar that held the menu, and now all I have is the mobile menu even though it is not checked..
how do you contact the ocean wp creators??
thanks…Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: menu and header bar disappearedI checked menu in – appearance–“customize:–menu – section and “mobile menu” isn’t even checked, only the main menu is checked so not sure how come I have a mobile menu showing up..

In reply to: menu and header bar disappearedOh my! when I pressed the 3 stripes I got a full page menu that was never there before.. I don’t mind having a mobile menu, but I had no idea that the stripes meant there was a menu hiding there ( yes I am a newbie), I can leave that there for mobile menu people, but wouldn’t mind having a regular menu there also.. Do you think I may have jiggled my main menu setting in the “customize” area and made the mobile menu the default??

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache - WordPress Cache Plugin] plugin won’t go away..I was reading the other day that supposedly “ajax” plugins seem to work with the cache plugins, don’t know if that is true or not, but if it is, it might help someone who is having the same problems that I had…

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache - WordPress Cache Plugin] plugin won’t go away..I am sooooooo happy !!!! I deactivated the fastest cache, and my NEW counter is working and showing on the front end!!! Now I am wondering if there was NO problem with max counter after all, and if that is the reason some of the counters that I tried out would not count?? Maybe it “froze them up” with a memory in the cache?
I wonder if there is any other plugin that might speed up my website?Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: no visit counter in footer will workMichael–appreciate your reply. Achulla —sorry I really don’t know any Russian, but appreciate your attempt to help..
You think that the fastest cache plugin is causing the problem even though the site cache has been cleared by the host?
I was thinking that maybe because I did some css with siteorigin in the footer region that maybe something was stuck there and I went back and took a look and sure enough there was a bit of “max hit counter’ stuck in there, even though the plugin was uninstalled and gone. I removed it and everything that pertained to it, and the website cache was again cleared. I thought everything was going to be fine. I installed a different counter plugin, and lo and behold once again. When I was logged in, there was the new counter. ( which I am not even sure it is working-counting- properly) I logged out, and there was the stupid broken “max hit counter” stuck at # 156 in the footer area grrrrr ;-( π
Is the fastest cache plugin prone to having conflicts and causing problems??
I am going to drop a note to the fastest cache side of things, but really would appreciate any thoughts you folks have, I admit I am a newbie, I am about ready to start pulling my hair..
