We are working on our next plugin upgrade, which is essentially a completely new solution for gallery/portfolio display.
you will be able to customize the plugin template by configurations instead of modifying the template file.
Hi Matt, check your single-portfolio.php, if its not in your theme folder, then you should create a copy of single.php and customise it according to your need.

And that is why we haven’t updated our plugin for a while.
The upgrade is expected in the last week of January, and we are very confident that you will be very pleased with our new upgrade, which will have a ton of new features.

In the next version, I will use Featured Image in place of Image/Video URL field value, if the value is missing.
4. Specify full-size Image URL or Video URL (youtube, vimeo) in the input field Image/Video URL on the left. You can also use URL from Media Library button to select the URL of full-size image from Media Library.

In reply to: [Wordpress Picture / Portfolio / Media Gallery] Portfolio Not Working@studioem, please check “Item Types” menu item under your Portfolio tab (Admin dashboard) and Image/Video URL field when edit/add an item then our plugin is active is working on your site.
Your theme portfolio functions are just taking priority for Dashbaord tab name.
