@antwerpes how would this affect logins on other sub-instances? If there are websites for each (sub)-domain and our goal is to authenticate the user for all subs within a domain as well, would the login work for all instances or does the user has to log in on every instance seperately?

as per DocCheck’s OAuth documentation subdomains need to be whitelisted use “.domain.xy” not “domain.xy” (1.3. Additional features). I’m attaching a link to the documentation below.
